Lappajärven kirkko
The first church and tabuli of the Lappajärvi parish were built in 1637. The current cruciform church with beveled outer corners and tabuli were built by Matti Honka in 1765. On the roof rises an eight-pointed “lantern” structure.
Pauper statue located next to the tabuli door was restored to its current form in 1841. The church boat under the shelter in the cemetery is from Itäkylä. It has been brought there as a reminder of the summer church trips of the congregation that always lived around the lake prior the time of modern means of transportation.
